Some gastrointestinal disorders may present as atypical
chest pain. This is chest pain not related to the heart.
This usually is associated with gastroesophageal reflux
(reflux of stomach acids) and esophageal spasm. In
addition, chest pain can be caused when food or liquid
gets stuck in the esophagus. Food may get stuck for many
different reasons, the most common being stricture or
narrowing in the bottom of the esophagus. |
